Described as ‘devilish but with a great sense of fun,’ Simon Chalk is the Hull Philharmonic’s second guest conductor of the season. He has worked with orchestras in more than 70 countries across a plethora of musical genres. Simon has appeared with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic, Latvian National Orchestra and is currently the Principal Guest Conductor of the Slovak Sinfonietta. Former principal percussionist of the Hull Philharmonic, Laura Bradford, returns to the orchestra as our February soloist in Séjourne’s thrilling concerto for the marimba.
