This year, the company that created theatre hits including Wendy Hoose, Purposeless Movements and the 2018 Fringe First & Herald Angel winning My Left / Right Foot – The Musical, celebrate their 25th anniversary. To mark a quarter of a century of championing disabled voices in theatre and nurturing future generations of disabled talent, Birds of Paradise are hosting an alternative Halloween event packed with some of the UK’s best disabled performers. Join host Jess Thom (aka Touretteshero) Joyous – The Guardian for a riotous evening of comedy, poetry and music featuring Laurence Clark …stupendously funny – The Stage, Harry Josephine Giles Edwin Morgan Poetry Award: Shortlist 2016, Sally Clay and Toni Jerrett. The entire evening will have BSL interpretation, audio description, live captions and will be performed in a relaxed atmosphere where people should feel free to make noise and move around at any time they wish. The audience will also be in with a chance to take home special prizes from Tron Theatre, Lyceum Theatre, WEST Brewery, Nairn’s Oatcakes, Rockstar Games and more. All proceeds will be used to support BOP in continuing their work in creating a culture where disabled artists are recognised for the excellence of their work, celebrated for the stories they bring to the stage and are a vital part of the artistic landscape.
This event takes place at Deaf Connections, 100 Norfolk Street, Glasgow G5 9EJ
