A Christmas Carol

About the Show

A Christmas Carol is the most famous book Charles Dickens ever wrote and one of the most daring. As the Ghosts spirit Scrooge from his past to his present to his future, Dickens plunges the reader cinematically from the miser’s dank and creaking house in the City to riotous festivities, from cozy hearths to graveyards. And all the time the author’s voice, tender, savage, magisterial, is present.

This Christmas, we’ll be making a new kind of performance for The Manor, Weston on the Green. Enjoy afternoon tea, dinner, or even an overnight stay, accompanied by Dickens’ iconic festive characters. A one man show, created by Nicholas Osmond (who played Scrooge in our 2017 adaptation at The North Wall), you’ll meet Scrooge, Marley, Cratchit, Tiny Tim and of course a whole load of ghosts. The story will be interspersed with refreshments and make the most of the beautiful setting to conjure up some spooky Christmas spirit. Shows at 15:00 – including afternoon tea – £45. Shows at 19:00 – including three course dinner – £65. Shows at 19:00 including show, dinner and overnight stay &pound269 for two people.

This event takes place at The Manor Hotel, Northampton Road, Weston on the Green, Bicester OX25 3QL
