A unique commission by Scottish Dance Theatre Looping: Scotland Overdub is participatory dance performance project specifically designed to engage with local artists and young people of Dundee, Caithness and the Inner Hebrides led by our professional company of dancers. Looping: Scotland Overdub is a dance, party, and politics experience originally created in Bahia, Brazil by collaborating artists, Felipe de Assis and Rita Aquino. The project is a collaborative creation platform inspired by Brazilian street festivals transposed onto local contexts and cultural manifestations of Dundee and rural communities around Scotland. Our full company of dancers will work with a young community cast during a week-long residency period here in Dundee, culminating in a final performance at Dundee Rep. Capturing the collective spirit of ceilidh dancing and street festival vibes, this is one night not to be missed!
