Willemijn Verkaik and more join cast of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown

The former ”Wicked” star joins Tamsin Greig and Haydn Gwynne in the musical at the Playhouse Theatre

Former Wicked star Willemijn Verkaik will join Tamsin Greig and Haydn Gwynne in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown at the Playhouse Theatre which opens on 20 December.

She will also be joined by Ricardo Afonso, Sarah Moyle, Marianne Benedict, Haydn Oakley and Rebecca McKinnis in David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane's musical.

Willemijn Verkaik is best known for playing Elphaba in Wicked in Germany, on Broadway and in the West End, and provides the Dutch and German voice of Elsa in Frozen.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown is adapted from Spanish director Pedro Almodovar's Oscar-nominated 1988 film of the same name.

The story revolves around a professional movie dubber who discovers unsavoury secrets about her married lover after he abruptly abandons her.

The cast also includes Jerome Pradon and Anna Skellern, and the show is directed by Bartlett Sher.
