The show will continue alongside the UK and Ireland tour
With its 11th birthday on 27 September, Wicked has today announced it will extend its booking period through to December 2018.
The new extension will star the fresh cast who debuted in the roles in late July.
While continuing its open-ended London run, the production will recommence its UK and Ireland touring production from 31 January 2018, visiting Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Dublin, Sunderland, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester.
The West End run currently stars Alice Fearn (Elphaba), Sophie Evans (Glinda), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Melanie La Barrie (Madame Morrible), Andy Hockley (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose) and Jack Lansbury (Boq).
Based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire which re-imagines the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Wicked tells the untold story of an unlikely friendship between Glinda The Good and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. It has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, and features the songs "Defying Gravity", "Popular" and "The Wizard and I".
Wicked is now booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 1 December 2018.
