Wicked announces 20th anniversary West End cast

Wicked has announced its 20th anniversary cast.

The award-winning musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, with a book by Winnie Holzman. Wayne Cilento handles musical staging, and Joe Mantello directs.

As part of its anniversary celebrations on 26 and 27 September, there will be tickets for special performances for those who have signed up via the Wicked website.

Continuing in the lead roles throughout the anniversary year are WhatsOnStage Award-winner Emma Kingston as Elphaba and Zizi Strallen as Glinda.

Joining the show from Broadway on 19 May will be Jordan Litz, the longest-running Fiyero in the show’s history. Also new to the West End cast will be Claire Machin, taking on the role of Madame Morrible, and Yara Fabricante, who makes her West End debut as Nessarose.

They join Michael Matus as the Wizard, Ross Carpenter as Boq, and David McKechnie as Doctor Dillamond while Laura Emmitt continues as the alternate Elphaba and Lydia Gerrard as a standby for Glinda.

The company is completed by Leo Abad, Iroy Abesamis, Elizabeth Armstrong, Steph Asamoah, Meg Astin, Rebecca Bowden, Shaun Chambers, Erin Gisele Chapman, Lauren Chia, Charles Croysdill, Oraine Frater, Emily Goodenough, Katy Hanna, Nat Ingham, Samuel John-Humphreys, Holly Lawrence, Jemima Loddy, Ellie Ann Lowe, Jamel Matthias, Marcus May, Conor O’Hara, Tom Oliver, Abbie Quinnen, Harry Robinson, Jeanie Ryan, Jessica Saisang-Rowe, Jonah Sercombe, Chris Tarsey, Hannah Taylor and Karen Wilkinson.

Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B Platt, and David Stone.

Scenic design is by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting by Kenneth Posner, sound by Tony Meola, projection designs by Elaine J McCarthy and hair and wig designs by Tom Watson. Music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire and Stephen Oremus, with dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott, orchestrations by William David Brohn, and musical supervision by Oremus. 

Wicked is currently booking through to 3 January 2027.
