West End stars join BBC’s Alan Menken Prom at Royal Albert Hall

Exclusive: The line-up has been announced for BBC Proms concert celebrating the music of Disney composer Alan Menken.

Enchanted: Alan Menken’s Music for Disney takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on Monday 31 August at 7pm. The concert will be performed with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and National Youth Music Theatre, conducted by Sarah Hicks and stage directed by Rupert Hands.

The line-up will include Stewart Clarke, Ben Forster, Lucie Jones, Sam Oladeinde, Celinde Schoenmaker and Marisha Wallace.

The programme features music from Menken’s scores for films including Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Tangled, alongside material from Enchanted and Newsies. The full line-up is listed below.

The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Sounds. It will also air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer on Saturday 5 September at 5.30pm.

Eight pound “Promming” tickets will be available from 9.30am on Monday 31 August through the BBC Proms and Royal Albert Hall websites.
