The musical is based on the much-loved film
Exclusive: Wayne Brady will make his West End musical debut later this year in To Sir, With Love – A New Musical.
The five-time Emmy Award winner and Grammy nominee will star opposite Lulu for two concert performances at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 24 November 2025.
Brady takes on the role of Rick Braithwaite, first played on screen by Sidney Poitier in the 1967 film. Lulu, who made the title song “To Sir, with Love” an international hit, returns to the story in a special appearance.
The musical adaptation of E R Braithwaite’s memoir features a score by John Farrar and Kara DioGuardi, with direction by Sheldon Epps, arrangements by Eve Nelson, musical supervision and orchestrations by Joseph Joubert, dramaturgy by Shereen Jasmin Phillips and choreography by Edgar Godineaux. Casting is by Debbie O’Brien.
To Sir, With Love is produced by Lythgoe Productions and Darren Bell, with Alex Day, Willette and Manny Klausner, Jonathan and Jennifer Yaek and Rebecca Bahling-Lythgoe. The show has been developed through the Ogunquit Playhouse New Works Program.
