Exclusive: The Unicorn Theatre has unveiled the next phase of its 2025/26 season.

From 22 March to 12 April, Slot Machine Theatre presents Your Toys, an interactive puppetry show that brings children’s favourite toys to life on stage, developed through workshops with young audiences.

Following its critically lauded 2023 run, Tim Crouch’s Toto Kerblammo! returns from 1 to 17 May. Told through 3D binaural audio, the production follows Effy and her beloved pet, examining themes of love, grief and friendship.

From 21 May to 7 June, Asif Khan’s stage adaptation of Zanib Mian’s Planet Omar will be staged for audiences aged seven and over. Directed by Sameena Hussain, the production tells the story of eight-year-old Omar and his adventures. The world premiere opens at Leeds Playhouse from 7 to 25 April, before transferring to the Unicorn Theatre and then to Birmingham Rep from 17 to 21 June.

The Unicorn Theatre will also make a selection of productions available digitally. Roald Dahl’s The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me, performed by WhatsOnStage Award-winner Hammed Animashaun with music by YolanDa Brown, will be released for free online from 28 October.

Pig Heart Boy, adapted by Winsome Pinnock, will remain available to families and schools through the Unicorn website and the National Theatre Collection, allowing access to state primary schools across the UK.
