Exclusive: Rehearsal photos for The Lady from the Sea at the Bridge Theatre have been released.
Written and directed by Simon Stone after Henrik Ibsen, the production will preview from 10 September and open on 18 September, running until 8 November.
Alicia Vikander plays Ellida alongside Andrew Lincoln as Edward. The cast also includes Isobel Akuwudike as Hilda, Joe Alwyn as Heath, Brendan Cowell as Finn Marcet, John Macmillan as Lyle and Gracie Oddie-James as Asa. Understudies are Daniel Gregory, Sarah Moss, Sadhbha Odufuwa-Bolger and Nathan Wiley.
Stone’s production follows Ellida as she questions her life with her doctor husband when a former lover reappears. Stone’s recent work includes Yerma at the Young Vic and Phaedra at the National Theatre. This will be his first production at the Bridge.
The creative team includes set designer Lizzie Clachan, costume designer Mel Page, composition and sound designer Stefan Gregory, lighting designer Nick Schlieper, casting director Jessica Ronane, associate lighting designer Guy Jones, assistant designer Pip Terry, intimacy coordinator David Thackeray, costume supervisor Anna Josephs and props supervisor Lily Mollgaard, with associate director Seán Linnen and production manager Jim Leaver.
The Lady from the Sea is produced by London Theatre Company and Wouter van Ransbeek.
