That’s it, folks, we’re past midday and can officially be marked safe from falling for any more April Fools ‘ Day jokes!

We had a ball with our story this year, and here are just some of our favourites we spotted.

WhatsOnStage

Sorry, we weren’t totally faithful about this breaking news, but who wouldn’t want to see Alan Carr playing Claudia Winkleman on stage? [Cue joke about fringe theatre]. Our annual April Fools saw us cast the winner of the last series as the host of the upcoming theatre show, and we added a whole bunch of extra details that you can read about here.

Choir of Man

New merch for a new tour! The Choir of Man lads are swapping pints for punnets of strawberries, apparently.

Jordan Li-Smith

Director Jordan Li-Smith shared the news this morning that he’ll be directing avid ballet fan Timothée Chalamet in an off-West End production of Billy Elliot.

Mischief Theatre

Mischief hosting an immersive dining experience? What could possibly go wrong?

Oh, Mary!

Fantastic work from the Oh, Mary! team in that this one is so well-executed (sorry, Queens), we’re willing it into existence with Mary Todd Lincoln the first to do double duty on SNL UK.

Paddington The Musical

Hank the pigeon is the star of the next big hit! The supporting character in Paddington The Musical will be getting his own stage show. You’ve bin had!

Six

Six had some breaking news this morning, not just for the theatre world, but for historians everywhere! Six seven! (Did we do that right?)

Stranger Things: The First Shadow

We’re a few days early for Easter, but Stranger Things: The First Shadow combined Easter Eggs and April Fools in their post this morning. They changed the Phoenix Theatre marquee to Joyce Maldonado’s production of Oklahoma! – audience members will have quite the surprise.

Titanique

From the Ship of Dreams to the Jungle? Seems an iconique step.
