Winners will be revealed on 27 January at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane
The nominees have been announced for this year's The Stage Awards, with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child producer Sonia Friedman in the running to complete a hat-trick of awards from the industry newspaper.
Friedman is once again nominated for Producer of the Year, which she has won for the past two years. She is up against Kenny Wax (The Play That Goes Wrong) and Fiery Angel (the Kenneth Branagh Plays at the Garrick season).
Sheffield Theatres are shortlisted alongside Bristol Old Vic and the Mercury Theatre in Colchester for Regional Theatre of the Year. While London Theatre of the Year sees the Menier Chocolate Factory nominated with the Old Vic and Regent's Park Open Air Theatre.
The King's Cross Theatre, a new three theatre pop-up space which is home to In the Heights, Lazarus and the Donmar Shakespeare Trilogy, will go head-to-head in the Theatre Building category with the Royal Court in Liverpool and the newly reopened Tara Theatre in Earlsfield.
Following their collaborations on Alice’s Adventures Underground, The Game's Afoot and Dinner at the Twits, Les Enfants Terribles and Emma Brunjes Productions are nominated for an Innovation Award. They are joined by the New Diorama Theatre, and Complicite.
