Michael Flatley’s West End dance show will feature runners up from ”Over the Rainbow” and ”The Voice UK”
Sophie Evans and Rachael O'Connor have both been announced as part of the principal cast for Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games.
Evans and O'Connor will share the role of Erin the Goddess. Evans was a runner up in the BBC's Over the Rainbow in 2010 and then played Dorothy in selected performances of The Wizard of Oz at the Palladium in 2011. O'Connor was in Kylie Minogue's group in series three of The Voice UK and starred in Lord of the Dance in 2014.
The role of Lord of the Dance will be played by James Keegan, Morgan Corner and brothers Cathal and Fergal Keaney. Each of the performers have won World Irish Dancing Championships titles.
The show is staged by Irish-American dancer Flatley, who originally wanted to create an Irish dance piece for big arenas. The story focuses on a Lord of the Dance who has to fight against a dark lord, trying to take over Planet Ireland. The show features holographs, dancing robots, acrobats and has a score composed by Gerard Fahy.
Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games opens at the Playhouse Theatre from 10 October 2015 until 3 January 2016.
