Damien Kavanagh, the winner of our Whatsonstage.com Miranda Sings competition, made his West End debut last night (3 June 2010), sharing the spotlight with his idol Miranda (aka actress Colleen Ballinger) in an excruciating – and show-stoppingly hilarious – rendition of Britney Spears’ “Womanizer”.

Damien, who beat over 60 other entrants to scoop the prize, was part of a stellar line-up that also featured Leanne Jones, Julie Atherton, Scarlett Strallen, Ben James Ellis, Noel Sullivan, Kerry Winter (Grease), Matt DeAngelis (Hair), Kieran Jae (Jersey Boys) and the West End gospel choir.

Before Damien joined her onstage, Miranda played his winning video, as well as clips from some of her other favourites in the competition – all of which received howls of approvals from the sell-out audience that included the five Whatsonstage.com runners-up.

Below you’ll find our YouTube-style filming of Miranda and Damien’s duet and thoughts from some of the stars about how Damien fared. In the photo gallery, do be sure to scroll through to the end where you’ll find the group shots of the stars and Damien all “pulling a Miranda” – our favourites!

And to have another look at Damien’s winning submissions and all of the other Miranda Sings videos, go to video.whatsonstage.com Congratulations, Damien! And thanks to everyone who took part.
