The two productions run next year

Orange Tree Theatre has announced the full cast and creative teams for Richard Eyre’s new adaptation of August Strindberg’s Dance of Death and Nicholas Wright’s Vincent in Brixton.
Geoffrey Streatfeild joins Lisa Dillon and Will Keen in Dance of Death, which Eyre will also direct. Dance of Death runs from 31 January to 7 March 2026. Set during a European plague, it follows former actress Alice and army captain Edgar, quarantined together in a destructive marriage.
Meanwhile, Carne associate director Georgia Green will direct Niamh Cusack in the first major revival of Vincent in Brixton, which originally premiered at the National Theatre and won the 2003 Olivier Award for Best New Play. It runs from 14 March to 18 April 2026. Set in 1873, it explores the early years of Vincent van Gogh as a young lodger in a south London boarding house.
Cusack will be joined by Jeroen Frank Kales as Vincent van Gogh, with Rawaed Asde, Amber Van Der Brugge and Ayesha Ostler completing the cast.
Artistic director Tom Littler said, “The Orange Tree continues to be a meeting point for theatrical debutants and veterans: a place where people take their first steps into professional theatre alongside those who have shaped our landscape. It’s a particular pleasure that Richard Eyre, who directed the first production of Vincent in Brixton, will be in the building directing Strindberg while our associate director Georgia Green, who first studied here as a student, is directing the first major London revival of Nicholas Wright’s play.”
Tickets start at £15.
