John Godber’s hit comedy returns to Royal Court following a successful production last year.
John Godber's play Bouncers is returning to Liverpool's Royal Court this week, following a run last Summer.
This Liverpool version will see Michael Starke (A Nightmare On Lime Street), Paul Broughton (Council Depot Blues), Danny O’Brien (The Salon) and Louis Emerick (Last Of The Summer Wine) pull on the black jackets.
It's 1985 and Ralph, Les, Judd and Lucky Eric are on the doors of The Grafton. These are not doormen or security operatives – they’re bouncers and they’ve seen it all. Lads full of lager, girls full of giggles and clubs full of crazy stories.
John Godber is one of the most performed playwrights in the English language with plays like Teechers, Up N Under and Screaming Blue Murder regularly performed. Bouncers is one of his most popular plays and has been constantly performed since it was written in 1977.
The play will be directed by Royal Court regular Bob Eaton and runs from 25 July – 18 August.
