New musical to open as part of the Live at Zedel line up

A new musical is to be staged for the first time at Live at Zedel at Crazy Coqs.

Alex Parker and Katie Lam's After You will run between 13 and 22 April next year, marking the first time the venue will stage a new musical.

The piece is about love and the price of success told through the story of two strangers who strike up a conversation from nearby tables. Lam has written the lyrics and book, with Parker penning the music. The duo have created and produced several musicals over three years of collaboration.

The show will be directed by Alastair Knights in a season which includes the already announced Maria Friedman, Stephen Warbeck, Ria Jones and Matt Cardle.

Also running early next year is January, a satirical musical revue about the start of a new year. Julie Atherton stars in the piece which also has a book by Alexander Parker.

January runs between 23 to 25 January at Live at Zedel and After You runs between 13 and 22 April.
