Our quest to find out the most popular songs in theatreland continues with the star of ”Les Miserables” and ”Dogfight”
Jamie's recent theatre credits include Les Miserables, Love Story (Chichester and Duchess), Rock of Ages (Shaftesbury), The Light Princess (National Theatre) and Dogfight (Southwark Playhouse), and he is soon to appear in The House of Mirrors and Hearts at the Arcola Theatre.
We caught up with Jamie and asked him: "If you were stranded on a desert island, which five showtunes could you not live without?"
JM: I could've chosen any of the songs from this show because they're all great but I loved doing this at the beginning of the show with all the other guys.
JM: I saw the show a few times and this was always a favourite moment.
JM: I was 18 when I did this show and I got to jump around a West End stage like an idiot with a bunch of other 18 year old idiots and scream swearwords at a thousand people each night. What's not to love?!
JM: My mate Ian Macintosh who plays Barry in Beautiful absolutely KILLS this song every night (in a good way). His voice is insane and the song's great so in to the top 5 it goes!
JM: Sometimes I do feel pretty, and when I sing it to myself in the mirror it feels like Leonard and Steven wrote it with me in mind!
