My Night With Reg stars Matt Bardock and Richard Cant pick their favourite 80's tracks

Following its critically-acclaimed sell-out season at the Donmar Warehouse, Kevin Elyot‘s classic comedy My Night with Reg has transferred to the Apollo Theatre for 12 weeks only.

The play takes place in the summer of 1985, so we caught up with Richard Cant (Bernie) and Matt Bardock (Benny) to find out their favourite tunes of the 80's.

Why? – "Great to dance to, happy memories."

Why? – "Politely put but deeply felt. Great band and very underrated."

"Give It Up" by KC & the Sunshine Band
Why? – "Summer holiday in the south of France with some mates when I was 13 – a whole month – Freedom! Still one of the best summers ever."

"All This Love That I'm Giving" by Gwen McCrae
Why? – "I used to go to the soul weekenders in Caistor & Prestatyn in the late 80s – this was an anthem!"

"Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman
Why? – "Reminds me of drama school in the late 80s – where I met my now wife. Happy Days!"
