Submissions have opened for MTFestUK 2026, which will return to The Other Palace Studio from 27 January to 15 February next year.

Now in its seventh year, the festival will once again platform six new musicals, each at different stages of development, giving creative teams the opportunity to workshop and share their work with audiences across four performances.

Writers from across the UK and internationally are invited to apply, with the festival particularly keen to support voices from underrepresented backgrounds. Previous pieces to have been showcased at MTFestUK include But I’m a Cheerleader, Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist, and Millennials, several of which have gone on to further life beyond the festival.

Artistic director Paul Taylor-Mills said: “It’s hard to believe that MTFestUK is back for the 7th time! What a journey it’s been – and how many exciting, ground-breaking new pieces have had the chance to be trialled, developed, and go on to find a future life beyond the festival. Today, I’m thrilled to open submissions for MTFestUK 2026 and encourage creatives from all backgrounds, both across the UK and internationally, to submit their new work.”

Submissions are open until 6pm on Sunday 28 September 2025.
