Million Dollar Quartet has a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux and is based on the recording session that brought Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins together at Sun Records in Memphis on 4 December 1956.

The musical features songs associated with the four musicians, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever”, “Walk the Line” and “Hound Dog.”

The production was developed at the Barn Theatre as part of its Built by Barn programme. It follows the theatre’s previous productions including I’m Sorry Prime Minister, I Can’t Quite Remember, which transferred to the West End before touring the UK.

Million Dollar Quartet first opened on Broadway in 2010, where it received three Tony Award nominations and won the award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Levi Kreis as Jerry Lee Lewis. It opened in the West End at the Noël Coward Theatre in 2011 and subsequently toured the UK in 2016 and 2017.

The current London season will run across the 70th anniversary of the 1956 recording session, with the production playing on 4 December 2026.
