Gardner’s theatre blog was cut from the ”Guardian” in March
Theatre writer Lyn Gardner has been announced as associate editor of The Stage newspaper following her Guardian blog being cut in March.
Gardner will write weekly columns and an in-depth monthly feature for the publication, whilst continuing to write for the Guardian in her role as theatre critic.
Earlier this year, a number of artistic directors, including Rupert Goold, Nikolai Foster and Indhu Rubasingham, wrote an open letter to the Guardian to pledge their support for her blog.
On her appointment, Gardner said she was "thrilled to be joining the team".
She added: "I'm delighted that my theatre blog has found a new home. Thank you to The Stage for giving me the platform to continue this important work."
Gardner will also join the judging panels for The Stage's numerous awards, namely The Stage 100, The Stage Awards and The Stage Debut Awards.
