We recently visited the cast of the Park Theatre’s revival of Neil LaBute’s The Shape of Things which begins performances at the north London venue this evening.

During rehearsals we sat down with Bridgerton star Luke Newton (who plays Adam), Peaky Blinders‘ Amber Anderson (Evelyn), Cyrano de Bergerac‘s Carla Harrison-Hodge (Jenny) and director Nicky Allpress to find out about the evolution of the play and the shape of it today.

The four-hander piece also includes Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy (Hollyoaks) as Phillip.

LaBute’s drama follows the story of Adam, a student who, upon meeting post-grad art student Evelyn, begins to undergo a transformation in appearance and confidence, leading him to question the extent to which he is willing to change for love and art.

Set and costume design is by Peter Butler, Anna Reddyhoff is responsible for lighting design, while Asaf Zahor is in charge of sound design. Alexandra Kharibian is the costume supervisor, and Amy Jane Blair is the casting director.

Produced by Trish Wadley Productions, The Shape of Things runs until 1 July with a press night set for 30 May.
