After opening the Tony Awards with a monologue which paid tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting, host James Corden went on to perform a medley of numbers riffing on Broadway shows from Lion King to Sweeney Todd to Les Mis. In a tweet sent this morning, Corden thanked fellow Brit Gary Barlow and American writer David Javerbaum for their help in writing the opening skit.
