Into the Woods announces West End dates and details – with initial cast revealed

The production is certain to live a long and happy life after its Olivier Awards win!

Dates and details have been revealed for the West End transfer of the Bridge Theatre’s award-winning revival of Into the Woods. 

Jordan Fein’s production of the Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical was the most nominated musical revival of the year at the Olivier Awards, with 11 nods. It won two – Best Musical Revival and Best Lighting.

Into the Woods also had nominations for director Jordan Fein, director Tom Scutt, Aideen Malone (lighting design) and Roland Horvath (video design), and Adam Fisher (sound design). Malone and Horvath won as a pair.

The show will move from the Bridge and open this autumn at the Noël Coward Theatre, with performances beginning on 22 September, through to 9 January 2027. An opening night is set for 7 October.

Olivier Awards nominee Kate Fleetwood will reprise her role as the Witch, with further casting to be confirmed.

The Bridge creative team alongside Fein and Scutt include musical supervisor and musical director Mark Aspinall, sound designer Fisher, lighting designer Malone, video designer Horvath, movement director Jenny Ogilvie, hair and make-up designer Sam Cox, puppetry designers Cheryl ‘Chuck’ Brown, Max Humphries and Scutt, production manager Chris Hay, associate director Georgia Green, scenic associate David Allen, associate musical director Alex Beetschen, associate sound designer Ollie Durrant, associate lighting designer Lucy Adams, associate costume designer Lucy Martin, wigs, hair and make-up supervisor Charlie Watson, props supervisors Jonathan Hall and Chris Marcus for Marcus Hall Props, orchestral management is by Andy Barnwell and Rich Weeden for BW Musicians and casting director is Stuart Burt.

Full cast for the West End transfer, which is presented in the West End by Jamie Wilson Productions, Kevin McCollum and New Ventures Entertainment, will be announced shortly.

Wilson said today: “Sondheim and Lapine’s Into The Woods is, quite simply, a masterpiece, and Jordan and Tom’s production is the perfect imaging of this very singular piece. I’m honoured to be partnering with the Bridge Theatre to bring the production to the West End, enabling a wider audience to experience their genius close up in the intimacy of the Noël Coward Theatre.”
