Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has extended in the West End until April 2018.

Tickets for the show, which is currently sold out until February 2018, will go on sale on 23 January. 75,000 seats will be released for performances between 7 February 2018 and 29 April 2018.

The production, which is JK Rowling's eighth story in the Harry Potter series, opened in July this year to a flurry of five star reviews, including one from WhatsOnStage's Sarah Crompton.

Harry Potter leads the nominations at this year's WhatsOnStage Awards with 11 nominations.

Last week, the play's producer, Sonia Friedman, topped The Stage 100 list of the most powerful people in the theatre industry.

Tickets will start from £15 for each of the two parts of the play, with 300 tickets less than £20 for each performance.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is booking at the Palace Theatre until 29 April 2018.
