Casting has been announced for Jam, which opens at the Finborough Theatre in May.

Harry Melling will star as Kane McCarthy, a pupil who ruins the life of his teacher Bella Soroush – played by Jasmine Hyde. Ten years later, the teacher and pupil are reunited and forced to confront their prejudices and the shared history that has bound them together.

Melling is best known for his portrayal of Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter film franchise, his recent theatre credits include King Lear alongside Glenda Jackson at the Old Vic, the UK tour of James Graham's The Angry Brigade and the West End transfer of Hand to God.

Hyde's theatre credits include Not Moses at the Arts Theatre, Muswell Hill at the Orange Tree and Death of a Cyclist at the Arcola. On radio, her credits include Leonie Snell in The Archers and young Hilda Rumpole in BBC Radio 4's Rumpole of the Bailey.

Directed by Tommo Fowler (I Wish To Die Singing, Obama-ology), the play is Matt Parvin's debut full length play. After training at the Royal Court and Arcola Theatre, his professional debut Two Roads premiered at VAULT Festival in 2015.

Jam runs at the Finborough Theatre from 25 May to 17 June, with previews from 23 May.
