Hadley Fraser and Josie Rourke's new musical Committee opened at the Donmar Warehouse last night and guests including Samantha Bond and Claire Skinner were on hand to help the cast celebrate.

The production, with music by Tom Deering, is edited from a parliamentary transcript of evidence given in 2015 by Camila Batmanghelidjh, founder of Kids Company, and Alan Yentob, the charity's former chairman. The full name of the show is The Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee Takes Oral Evidence on Whitehall's Relationship with Kids Company.

Sandra Marvin plays Batmanghelidjh alongside Omar Ebrahim as Yentob. The cast, directed by Adam Penford, also includes Alexander Hanson, Rosemary Ashe, Robert Hands, Liz Robertson and Anthony O'Donnell as MPs, they are joined by David Albury and Joanna Kirkland.

In August 2015, Kids Company closed after 19 years, and in November the Public Accounts Committee described it as a failed "13 year experiment". Batmanghelidjh was accused of mismanaging the finances of the charity.

Committee… runs at the Donmar Warehouse from 3 July to 12 August, with previews from 24 June.
