The filmed version of the award-winning revival of Funny Girl will head to cinemas across the UK and Ireland.

The production stars Sheridan Smith as Fanny Brice, a role made famous on Broadway by Barbra Streisand, alongside the late Darius Campbell as the suave Nick Arnstein.

Featuring classic songs including “Don’t Rain on My Parade”, “People” and “I’m the Greatest Star”, Funny Girl returns to the big screen as a celebration of both the production and its leading performances. The cinema release offers audiences the chance to experience the show up close, capturing the immediacy of live theatre while making the production accessible to those who may have missed it on stage.

The revival received major recognition during its run, earning nominations for Best Musical Performance for Sheridan Smith and Best Musical Revival at the 2016 London Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

Screenings begin from 30 April at cinemas including Vue, Odeon, Showcase, Light and Savoy, as well as independent venues across the UK and Ireland.
