A huge Matilda reunion for the UK premiere!
The Old Vic has announced the full cast and creative team for the UK premiere of Tracy Letts’ play Mary Page Marlowe.
Directed by Artistic Director Matthew Warchus, the production runs from 23 September to 1 November, with press night on 8 October.
The play, told across 90 minutes in 11 scenes, presents 70 years in the life of Mary Page Marlowe, portrayed by five different actors.
Joining the previously announced Susan Sarandon and Andrea Riseborough are Daniella Arthur-Kennedy as Lorna, Eden Epstein as Roberta Marlowe, Clare Hughes as Wendy Gilbert, Gilbert Kyem Jnr as Ben, Melanie La Barrie as Nurse, Rosy McEwen as Mary Page Marlowe, Kingsley Morton as Connie, Hugh Quarshie as Andy, Ronan Raftery as Dan, Paul Thornley as Ray, Lauren Ward as Shrink, Noah Weatherby as Ed Marlowe, Alisha Weir as Mary Page Marlowe, and Eleanor Worthington-Cox as Mary Page Marlowe. The role of Louis will be shared by Felix Anderson, Griffin Ashton and Dexter Pulling.
As a fun connection – Ward, La Barrie and Worthington-Cox were all in the original Matilda West End production (directed by Warchus), with Riseborough, Ashton and Weir also starring in the film adaptation of said musical, once more directed by Warchus. Ashton has also appeared in the stage show.
The creative team includes set and costume design by Rob Howell, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker, casting by Jim Carnahan and Sam Stevenson, children’s casting by Amy Beadel, dialect coaching by Penny Dyer, and voice work by Charlie Hughes D’Aeth. Lilac Yosiphon is associate director, with associate sound by Emma Laxton, associate costume by Lucy Gaiger, and wigs, hair and make-up supervision by Campbell Young Associates.
