Noël Coward’s comedy returns in a new production

Complete casting has been announced for Reading Rep Theatre’s forthcoming production of Private Lives by Noël Coward, which runs from 16 April to 19 May.
As already revealed, Amy Di Bartolomeo will make her Reading Rep debut as Amanda, while Orla O’Sullivan returns to Reading Rep to play Sybil, Amanda’s ex-husband’s new wife. Joining them are Christopher Bonwell (The Mousetrap) as Elyot, and Emile John, most known for playing Ethan Anderson in ITV’s Emmerdale from 2021 to 2024, makes both his stage debut and Reading Rep Theatre debut in the role of Victor.
Rose-anna Nicholson, who has been a member of the Reading Rep Theatre Youth Ensemble for the past year, will make her professional stage debut in the role of Louise.
The production is directed by Matthew Forbes, who returns to Reading Rep after directing the theatre’s 2024 Christmas show The Snow Queen. His recent work includes puppetry direction on War Horse and directing a new adaptation of Treasure Island by Sandi Toksvig.
The creative team includes set and costume designer Kevin Jenkins, lighting designer Elliot Griggs, and sound designer Raffaela Pancucci. The production manager is Jordan Harris, with casting by Jill Green Casting, costume supervision by Sheree Paton, stage management by Josette Shipp and assistant stage management by Lucy Skinner.
