”Things I Know to be True” will open at the Lyric Hammersmith in September before a short tour
The UK premiere of Frantic Assembly's new show Things I know To Be True is set to open at the Lyric Hammersmith in September before embarking on a short tour.
Things I Know To Be True tells the story of a family and marriage through the eyes of four grown siblings struggling to define themselves beyond their parents' love and expectations.
A co-production with State Theatre Company of South Australia, the show will be a new commission written by Australian wrtier Andrew Bovell and co-directed by Scott Graham and Geordie Brookman. It comes to the UK following an Australian premiere at Adelaide Festival Centre in May 2016.
Graham, Frantic Assembly artistic director commented, "I am so excited about collaborating with Geordie Brookman on Andrew Bovell's beautiful work. The prospect of what we, and this fantastic creative team can make together is absolutely thrilling."
Bovell added: "Things I Know To Be True is about familial love, which can hold you in the safest and strongest place possible and suffocate you at the same time…The collaboration with Frantic Assembly allows this story to reach across continents to the UK and to remind each other just how similar we are."
Casting is yet to be announced.
Things I know To Be True opens at the Lyric Hammersmith on 16 September before touring to Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, Manchester and Chichester.
