
Take a first listen to Ruth, which will receive its world premiere at Wilton’s Music Hall from 18 to 28 March 2026.
Presented by Ruth Theatre Productions in association with Cahoots Theatre Company, the musical features music by John Cameron, Francis Rockliff and James Reader, lyrics by Caroline Slocock and Cameron, and a book by Slocock.
The production is directed by Andy Morahan, with design by Nicolai Hart-Hansen, lighting design by David Howe and sound design by Simon Slater.
The company will feature Garth Bardsley as Arthur and the judge, Paddy Duff as Howard, Roy and Policeman, John Faal as Desmond Cussen, Sarah Lawn as Berta and Jean, Connor Payne as David Blakely, Alice Redmond as Conner and Susan, Bibi Simpson and Hannah Traylen sharing the role of Ruth Ellis, Freddy Williams as Saunders, John and Joe, and Mei-Li Yap as Young Ruth and Mary. Ian Puleston-Davies will play Albert Pierrepoint.

Set in 1950s London, the musical follows Ellis, the nightclub hostess who shot her lover and became the last woman to be executed in Britain.
