Glam-rock musical Rock of Ages will hit the road next year on a tour starting in Bromley in September.
The show – which features classic rock songs from the '80s including "We Built This City", "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Don't Stop Believin'" – will open at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on 20 September 2018 before touring to Manchester, Wycombe, Darlington, Dublin, Liverpool, Cardiff, Birmingham, Dartford and Sheffield, with more venues to be announced.
Casting for the UK tour has yet to be announced.
With a book by Chris D’Arienzo and arrangements and orchestrations by Ethan Popp, Rock of Ages premiered on Broadway in 2009 and was nominated for five Tony Awards. It transferred to the Shaftesbury Theatre in 2011 and the Garrick in 2013, and embarked on a UK tour in 2014.
It was also adapted for the big screen in 2012 with an all-star cast including Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Bryan Cranston and Tom Cruise.
