Exclusive: New casting announced for In The Heights

New cast members have been announced for the Olivier Award-winning musical In the Heights.

Christine Allado (From Here to Eternity, Here Lies Love) replaces Jade Ewen as Vanessa, Norma Atallah (The Sound of Music – Live) joins as Abuela and Jonathan Bishop (The Lion King) as Graffiti Pete.

Kimmy Edwards (Memphis) and Ryan Reid (Shrek The Musical) also join existing cast members David Bedella, Josie Benson, Vas Constanti, Lily Frazer, Sam Mackay, Sarah Naudi, Joe Aaron Reid, Cleve September and Philippa Stefani.

Completing the cast is Jocasta Almgill, Courtney-Mae Briggs, Michael Cortez, Gabriela Garcia, Reiss Hinds, Alexzandra Sarmiento and Spin.

In the Heights won three awards at this year's Oliviers; Outstanding Achievement in Music, Best Theatre Choreographer (Drew McOnie) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical (David Bedella).

With music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the production is directed by Luke Sheppard (Casa Valentina) and choreographed by Drew McOnie (The Lorax, Bugsy Malone), with musical supervision by Tom Deering (Made In Dagenham) and set design by takis (Chicago).
