Casting has been announced for An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde, directed by Nicholai La Barrie, which will be staged at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre in association with Bristol Old Vic.

The production will run in London from 7 May to 6 June 2026, with a press night scheduled for 13 May, before transferring to Bristol Old Vic from 10 to 20 June.

The cast includes Emmanuel Akwafo as Mason and Phipps, Jeff Alexander as the Earl of Caversham, Nimmy March as Lady Basildon, Suzette Llewellyn as Lady Markby, Tamara Lawrance as Lady Chiltern, Tiwa Lade as Mabel Chiltern, Chiké Okonkwo as Lord Chiltern, Aurora Perrineau as Mrs Cheveley, Sule Thelwell as Vicomte de Nanjac and Jamael Westman as Lord Goring. Trevor Nelson will also contribute voice work to the production.

The production will be set in present-day London and follows Sir Robert Chiltern, whose public standing is challenged by revelations that threaten his marriage and career. The production marks 100 years since the play was last staged at the Lyric, where it appeared in 1926.

The creative team includes set and costume designer Rajha Shakiry, lighting designer Zeynep Kepekli, sound designer Holly Khan, movement director Alexzandra Sarmiento and casting director Heather Basten. The assistant director is Gráinne Flynn, with Mariama Bojang as associate costume designer. Stage management is led by Claire Bryan, with Jade Hunter as deputy stage manager and Jack Bond as assistant stage manager.

Alongside the main run, the production will include a post-show discussion with the director on 19 May, a British Sign Language performance on 26 May, a chilled performance on 27 May, an open-captioned performance on 2 June and an audio-described performance on 4 June with a touch tour earlier that evening.
