The award-winning play opens this autumn

Patricia Allison and Stefanie Martini will star in the world premiere of Private View, the debut play by Jess Edwards, running at Soho Theatre from 27 November to 20 December 2025.
Directed by Annie Kershaw, the play follows two women whose relationship becomes increasingly enmeshed, exploring the boundaries of identity and control. Described by its creators as an intimate study of connection and power, Private View marks Edwards’ first full-length play and has been shortlisted for the Yale Drama Series Prize, the ATG Playwright’s Prize, and the Women’s Prize for Playwriting.
Allison, known for Sex Education, said she was “delighted” to be returning to Soho Theatre, while Martini, seen in The Gold, commented that she was looking forward to “delving into the play and this love story.”
Edwards said she was “humbled” to bring her first play to the stage with a “largely queer women” team, adding that she hoped audiences “see something of themselves in Private View.” Kershaw described the work as “wild, transfixing and scarily relatable.”
The creative team includes Georgia Wilmot as set and costume designer, Catja Hamilton as lighting designer, Josh Anio Grigg as sound designer, Ingrid Mackinnon overseeing movement and intimacy, Jacob Sparrow as casting director, and Production Solutions Group managing production.
Private View is produced by Speakerphone Productions with support from the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Tickets, priced from £13, are available now
