New cast members have been announced for The Commitments, with Brian Gilligan taking over the lead role of Deco from Killian Donnelly from tonight, 16 September 2014.

Gilligan was discovered by associate director C Jay Ranger, singing in a stairwell of the Palace Theatre, when he was playing drummer Billy 'The Animal' Mooney in the show.

He is replaced as Mooney by John Currivan, who is making his West End debut. They are also joined by Sam Fordham as Mickah, Anthony Hunt as Joey 'The Lips' Fagan, Natalie Hope as Natalie and John McLarnon as Outspan.

Adapted from Roddy Doyle's prize-winning novel, The Commitments tells the story of Jimmy Rabbitte, who shapes an unlikely bunch of amateur musicians into an amazing live act, the finest soul band Dublin has ever produced.

It is currently booking to 19 April 2015.
