Trafalgar Studios 2 rather resembled the set of E4’s Skins last night as actors from the teen drama turned out to support former cast member Nicholas Hoult (pictured) making his West End debut in New Boy.

Those in attendance included Kaya Scodelario, Mike Bailey, Larissa Wilson, Daniel Kaluuya and Hannah Murray, who last year made her own West End debut in the Polly Stenham’s That Face (See News, 5 Mar 2008).

Starring alonside Hoult in New Boy are Hollyoaks‘ Ciara Janson (also making her West End debut), Gregg Lowe, Phil Matthews and Mel Giedroyc, last seen on the London stage last year in Eurobeat.

New Boy, adapted and directed by Russell Labey, tells the story of a schoolboy crush and its devastating consequences. Mark starts the sixth form knowing that this is his last chance to impress – to be more popular, more obnoxious, the best informed about gynaecology. Meanwhile, good-looking new boy Barry (Hoult) seems to be having trouble making friends because everyone’s afraid of him. He could be the perfect ally in Mark’s mission to enhance his social status and finally get laid…

It continues to 11 April 2009.
