Over 500 young Londoners will take over the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn for two weeks in March.

The theatre has announced that the Tricycle Takeover will be the biggest ever undertaken. Young people aged 11-25 from across London will be given roles backstage, in producing, marketing and performance at the theatre. They will curate events around the theme Paradise.

A new play Bred will run at the theatre from 17-19 March, which has been created by the people aged 15-18s from the Tricycle Young Company. It is a devised play about how teenagers talk about sex.

Following this, the 19-25-year-olds of the Tricycle Young Company will perform Switch, which has the audience as citizens 'of a broken future'.

As well as these two plays, National Theatre Connections returns to the theatre with ten performances of plays including Bassett by James Graham, The Musicians by Patrick Marber and Blackout by Davey Anderson.

This year's takeover features over 50 events, screenings, performances and masterclasses – from the likes of James Graham, Gbolahan Obisesan and David Ajala.

Artistic director of the theatre Indhu Rubasingham said: "Takeover is an integral part of our artistic programme and I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the Tricycle Young Company performing on our main stage, in addition to young performers from across the capital."

Tricycle Takeover runs from 13-23 March.
