5. In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel - Charing Cross Theatre
Linda Marlowe stars in a rare production of Tennessee Williams' 1969 play about an alcoholic painter on the verge of a nervous breakdown and his 'ugly American' wife.

4. Deathwatch - Print Room at the Coronet
Geraldine Alexander directs the first major revival of Jean Genet's play in nearly thirty years. Informed by his own experience in French prisons, Genet's first play was last presented in London in 1987 in a major production by the Royal Shakespeare Company.

3. Boy - Almeida Theatre
The director-designer team behind last year's surprise hit Game, Sacha Wares and Miriam Buether, return to the Almeida for Leo Butler's play about coming of age in the 21st century.

2. The Suicide - Lyttelton, National Theatre
Playwright Suhayla El-Bushra takes Nikolai Erdman's Stalin-era satire and brings it bang up to date in this new adaptation directed by Nadia Fall and starring Javone Prince (E4's PhoneShop) and Paul Kaye (Matilda).
