The Theatre Royal Bath production of Joanna Murray Smith's thriller Switzerland will transfer to the Ambassadors Theatre in the West End after first running at Ustinov Studio in Bath earlier this year.

Directed by Lucy Bailey (Witness for the Prosecution), the production runs from 10 November to 5 January. It follows legendary writer Patricia Highsmith (who penned the likes of The Talented Mr Ripley or Strangers on a Train) as she languishes in her Swiss home in 1995. She is then visited by a sinister stranger.

The production stars Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey) as Highsmith, joined by Calum Finlay (Mary Stuart) as Edward Ridgeway.

In his four-star review of the original Ustinov production, Kris Hallett said "Switzerland is a fine yarn that also gives real insight into the life of one of the 20th century's finest crime writers."

Tickets are on sale now. Switzerland marks the second West End transfer for Jonathan Church's 2018 summer season at Theatre Royal Bath, with The Price starring David Suchet coming to the Wyndham's Theatre in February 2019.
