Amber Riley, Tim Minchin, Harry Potter and more pick up their Olivier Awards

”Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” won a record-breaking nine awards

Last night's Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall saw Harry Potter and the Cursed Child win a record-breaking nine awards, including in three acting categories and all four design categories, as well as Best New Play.

Playwright Jack Thorne collected the award for Best New Play, while John Tiffany won Best Director and Jamie Parker took home Best Actor.

Other winners at the event included Tim Minchin, Billie Piper, Amber Riley, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Kenneth Branagh, Noma Dumezweni, Anthony Boyle and Matthew Bourne.

The awards were presented by the likes of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andrew Garfield, Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, John Boyega, Russell Tovey and Amanda Holden.
