Josefina Gabrielle will return to the West End production of Chicago, with Alexandra Burke and Duncan James extending their runs in the musical.

Gabrielle previously starred in the show when it first returned to the West End alongside Cuba Gooding Jr, having previously played the role of Roxie in the musical when it ran at the Adelphi and Cambridge Theatres.

Denise van Outen was previously slated to appear in the production but had to withdraw due to a heel injury, delaying her appearance. Laura Tyrer has played the role since mid September.

Burke and James will extend their times, with Burke now performing until 10 November and James performing until 17 November.

Burke will not appear between 15 and 24 October and James will not appear between 6 to 12 November. Sarah Soetaert (who also originally starred in the show alongside Gooding Jr) will play the role of Roxie Hart between 15 to 24 October.

Mazz Murray continues to play Mama Morton and Paul Rider continues to play Amos Hart.

Kander and Ebb's Chicago returned to the West End in March this year. It originally opened in London in 1997 and ran for 15 years.
