The cast for Jesus Christ Superstar, which will tour the UK next year, has been announced with Glenn Carter reprising his role as Jesus.

Two former X Factor contestants join the cast with Rhydian Roberts playing Pontius Pilate and Rachel Adedeji in the role of Mary Magdalen.

Tim Rogers, last seen on stage in Carousel at the Arcola, will play Judas Iscariot in the touring production directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright and choreography by Carole Todd.

With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera that tells the story of the last seven days in the life of Jesus through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.

The tour, which kicks off at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on Wednesday 21 January 2015, will be designed by Paul Farnsworth, with lighting by Nick Richings and sound design by Dan Samson.
