Meet the original Jamie and mum Margaret, Josie Walker and John McCrea in Everybody's Talking About Jamie

We sat down with Jamie Campbell, his mum Margaret and the two stars Josie Walker and John McCrea

Jamie Campbell was a national talking point when he was the basis for the documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, charting his life as a drag artist and the impact it had on his social and family life.

The story was adapted into a musical by composer Dan Gillespie-Sells (lead singer of The Feeling), which ran at the Sheffield Crucible and now comes to the West End for a run at the Apollo Theatre.

We sat down with Jamie Campbell, his mum Margaret and stars John McCrea and Josie Walker about the production. As might be expected, the experience has been surreal for both parties – both seeing their story put onstage and having to perform in front of their character's inspirations.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie runs at the Apollo Theatre and is booking until 21 April 2018.
