Also joining the cast from 4 May - 21 August is Shaun Williamson (The Railway Children, EastEnders) as Lord Scrumptious/Baron Bomburst. Phill Jupitus (The Producers), who currently plays the roles of Lord Scrumptious and Baron Bomburst, returns to the show from 24 August.
Other previously announced casting includes Lee Mead (Casualty, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) as Caractacus Potts (4 May - 18 September) with Jason Manford (The Producers) in the role from 21 September.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has music and lyrics by the Academy Award-winning Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book). The new production is directed by West Yorkshire Playhouse artistic director James Brining, with new choreography by Stephen Mear.
