Ben Elton is having a busy time at the moment. His first joint project with Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Beautiful Game, is already previewing at theCambridge theatre and is bound to be the focus of much media attention. At the same time his first ever play Gasping is setting out on a new UK tour. Written in 1990 it was updated by the author for a run at the Palace Theatre, Watford in 1998, and toured earlier this year. The new production opens at Plymouth Theatre Royal on 22 September, stars Neil Stacy and Ian Reddington, and on the way makes a trip to the newly reopened Jersey Opera House.
