When Women Wee is set in a nightclub ladies toilet and lifts the lid on the mysterious rituals that happen when two girls go off together to the loo. I had assumed that the show would be a stand-up routine, but then realised that girls cannot do that. This is an occasionally vulgar and crude show, but I loved every minute of it.

Five very talented ladies portray a series of hilarious characters populating a night out on the town: the girl who takes drugs for the first time, the friends who have drifted apart, the slut who likes to keep shaving her arms, the mother who tries to read her daughter a bedtime story while intoxicated.

Rachel Hirons' sharp, funny and modern script manages to keep things honest and real even when depicting stereotypes such as dumb blondes and uptight bints.

And Hirons' writing feels all the fresher for the impeccable comic timing of the whole cast. There are some brilliant moments of slapstick involving too many drugs, overuse of toilet paper and attempts to conceal flatulence with unconvincing coughs.

It might not be the show you see on a first date, but you could definitely go on the second.
